Rob Scoble, Microsoft's uber-blogger, is very smart. And he's issued a wake-up call for everyone related to the advertising business with two posts here and here about how Google is stealing a march on just about everyone into the Brave New World. (We briefly touched on Google's strategy in our recent post on own our "mashup" experiments). Let's hope that as Google simultaneously grows more pervasive and more pressured to beat its own ridiculous earnings performance, it remembers its pledge to Not Be Evil.
Meanwhile, now that Google is showing us how to monetize them in useful, non-intrusive ways, the question all the rest of us should be asking is, what data sets do we have that would be valuable to expose via AJAX-based combinations? Here's some food for thought. See here to track even more ideas.
